Ebony and Ivory

So, I’ve learned something in the last week… I’m not completely lost when it comes to touching a piano… I sat down last Thursday trying to figure out “Yellow” by Coldplay (I had figured it out on guitar, so I figured I could do it)… now it has become an addiction. A stress release. Incredibly calming… spiritually relaxing. I can’t go a few hours without having the desire to tickle those keys. weird

Right now, I’m in the later half of my modular course… 2 more days(ish) until I’m done the classes, I don’t really know if I like doing an entire course in a week, but at the same time, I wouldn’t really want to do this particular class (Foundations of Children and Family Ministry) any other way. I’m just frustrated that I have just a few days left to get all my assignments handed in by Tuesday (And I don’t want to have to work on it next week, so this week is crazy).

OH! and I finally got my camera (and lens filters/compact flash card) which is super exciting, and now I’ll be posting my favorites on Flickr! so my sidebar will look cooler with some recent pictures. If anyone else reads this, go ahead and comment on pictures… (I’m kind of assuming that no one else wants to read my thoughts/what goes on in my life, or at least not in blog form)

Isaiah!!!! And other fun Bible College things.

Ugh… 130 some pages down, 100 or so to go…. This Isaiah commentary is so frustrating to follow…. the main thing being that I can’t follow it. Rob Guthrie certainly has a great way of teaching, and making a person like me understand the material, but this book… so difficult.  On top of that, I have a Church History test on Wednesday, and I haven’t studied for that yet, I need to read about 87 pages for that… and figure out who I want to write my major paper on, and I also have a 4 page thing for Cross Cultural Studies (but I’m not really worried about that…) I wish I hadn’t been sick last week, I might have gotten some of this stuff done.  Who am I kidding?  A guy can dream…. oh, and I have my modular course next week, so there is a bunch of work for that which I was hoping to do ahead of time.  I love school…. :(

My head a-splode

The title pretty much sums it up… both figuratively, and somewhat literally. I’ve got a headache… but I’ve also got a lot of things that I should be doing. There are so many pages of reading that I want to accomplish. Not only are there 200 pages for my Isaiah class, a bunch for Church History, and some other school related readings… but I have at least 3 full length books that I just got, that I want to read. Serve God, Save the Planet by Matthew Sleeth, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, and God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens… I’m interested in reading some of their points of view.  Shoot… I also have that 4 page paper due for Thursday… well, that should be pretty easy. The one thing that I am realizing more and more, every time I touch a digital SLR it just feels like a natural part of my body… I cannot wait for my XTi to come… please come soon… so I can take pictures with you. Don’t stay in the arms of those evil UPS people… come to me.
